Well we have been guiding like mad men the last few weeks from dawn till dusk catching socks (sockeye), humps (pink), and springs (chinook)! Fishing has been rock solid with great catches on every charter. We have been targeting the sockeye with multiple flashers and 18-28 inch leaders with pink hootchies. By multiple flashers we are talking about running a few dummy flashers off your downrigger as well as the flasher that has your leader and hootchy. Daisy Chains by Kone Zone and Delta Tackle also work well. In the process of fishing for sockeye we have been hooking some nice chinook as well, both reds and more whites in the last couple of trips. Those anglers who are actually targeting springs are of course doing well, mostly in the 30-60 foot range using a flasher and and 6 foot leader with a herring or anchovy in a glow teaser head. There have been solid schools of sockeye, pink, and spring, in the N. Arm of the Fraser area as well as the Bell Buoy in more recent days. We haven’t had to run past the T-10 marker so far this year, there have been plenty of fish a lot closer to home! The hot spot can change a little from day to day but you can usually find a good school of fish anywhere from the N. Arm to the T-10 and if you want you can run all the way down to the S. Arm but it often isn’t necessary, even though we have heard good to great reports from down there. Get on the water and fish!
