Over the last few days the Pacific Angler Saltwater Guide Team has been fishing several different areas. We have fished West Vancouver, the Hole in the Wall to Sunset Beach in Howe Sound, the Point Grey Bell Buoy, the T10 Marker, the QA and the Mile Markers and Gabriola Island.
Gabriola Island continues to produce nice chinook in the mid to high teens. The best depths for us here have been 95 to 155 feet on the downriggers with Hoochies (the Spackleback, Chartreuse and Glow, Glow w/Green Stripe), Spoons (Green Glow, Irish Cream, Cop Car) and Anchovies.
West Vancouver is starting to produce the odd Coho at depths from 20 to 65 feet on pale coloured hoochies. 27 feet has been a “hot” depth if you can call it “hot” given that just a few Coho have been hooked over the last few days. Guide Eddie has been hitting the odd Coho on the “Yellow Tail” Coyote in the 3.5″ size.
Howe Sound (Hole in the Wall to Sunset Beach) and Point Grey have produced Springs to 30 pounds on Anchovies fished from 40 to 95 feet on the downrigger.
The Point Grey Bell Buoy and T10 Marker have produced fish to 25 pounds on Anchovies and Hoochies with some glow in them at depths from 45 to 120 feet on the downrigger. The shallower depths are proving the be the most productive. Be CAREFUL and on the lookout for the minefield of crab traps in this area as an encounter with one of these can prove very costly.
For those of you looking to experience some of the best fishing that Vancouver has to offer, we have several boats available to appease your fishing appetite!
Until next update: Get out and FISH !!!!!
See you on the water!
