Vancouver Salmon Fishing Update, Friday August 3

It is hard to believe that we are now in the month of August.  And with August comes great weather and great fishing conditions.  The vancouver salmon fishing has been rolling along and now we finally have the summer weather we’ve been waiting for!

The Environment Canada Vancouver forecast is calling for sunny conditions all weekend long.  Make sure to put on your sunscreen as it is going to be a hot one.  Daily high temperatures will range from 25 to 27 degrees Celsius.  The Georgia Straight Marine Forecast is also looking good for the weekend.  While you can expect from stronger north western winds, ranging from 15 to 20 knots at times, the winds shouldn’t affect fishing.

The “Salty Dawg” has been concentrating it’s efforts around the shoreline of West Vancouver for coho and then Howe Sound for chinook salmon.  We’ve heard of things picking up a bit along West Vancouver with some fish being caught by beach anglers.  As well, we are expecting the Bell Buoy and the area around the mouth of Fraser River to start producing.

While we are busy at this time of year we do have some availability left and some weekends open.  Please do not hesitate to contact Pacific Angler booking manager, Dave, at our retail location on 78 East Broadway (store: 604-872-2204).

Happy Fishing
