Vancouver Salmon Fishing Update, Wednesday July 25

The Vancouver salmon fishing has been steady over the past couple of days.  On our 5 hour trips we’ve been focussing on both coho salmon along the West Vancouver shoreline and Fraser River chinook salmon off of the Bell Buoy (Spanish Banks).  On a 8 hr and 10 hr charter the action has been at the Hole-in-the-Wall, near Horseshoe Bay.  Eddie got his guests into this chrome 20 lb.+ chinook salmon.  He also got into another nice chinook salmon but unfortunately a seal took the salmon while hooked.

There hasn’t been much action near the mouth of the Fraser River for chinook salmon.  All of our guides expect this fishery to start producing in the next few days or so.  All it will take is that first really good report!

The weather has turned around in favour of our Vancouver salmon charters and guests.  Vancouver has experienced some unusually cloudy weather at the beginning of the week but it looks like we are back into beautiful sunny days with blue skies.

The Vancouver forecast for the rest of the week is calling for mainly sunny conditions on Thursday, Saturday, Sunday, Monday & Tuesday.  On Friday you can expect cloudy conditions with a 30% chance of showers.  The daily high temperatures range from 21 to 24 degrees Celsius.

The marine forecast for the Straight of Georgia is looking good as well with winds ranging from light conditions to 15 knots on some days.  You can expect a southeast wind most days.  Make sure to check the marine forecast for your area before you head out on the water.  Conditions can change fast on the water and it is always best to be prepared.

Have a great end of the week and we’ll see you on Friday!
