Vancouver Salmon Fishing Report November 23rd 2012

Things have been pretty quiet this week in the ocean which is normal for this time of year.  We  have been focusing on our freshwater charters, taking our rafts and jet boats to some of the local rivers and hooking good numbers of coho the past two weeks.  If you are in town and thinking of booking a charter you are better off looking towards the rivers than the ocean when it comes to searching for salmon in the back end of November.  If this interests you please give us a call at Pacific Angler 6045-872-2204.

As we enter December you will see that start to change.  The river fishing will taper off for salmon and we will start fishing the ocean again with a renewed focus.  This is the time of year the first “winter springs” or “feeder chinook” start to enter our local saltwater fishing areas.  A mere 5 minutes from the dock and you can be hooking some nice chinook salmon.  Crabbing is also good this time of year.  Some hot chocolate or coffee and Bailey’s, a few nice chinook on the line and some dungeness crab can make for a great way to spend the day on the local waters.

To book some of the prime tides in mid to late December and into January, give us a call at 604-872-2204.  This is a great time to be on the water as we usually see a good push of fish show up at this time of year.
