Without question, 2011 is off to a great start! With the Salty Dawg undergoing routine maintenance and some preparations for the 2011 season over the last few days, Jason, Andrew, Eddie and Preston headed out on the Seastar for some winter fishing action! Our associates who were on the water the day before had a very promising report so we thought we’d follow up on the action! We dropped the Crab and Prawn Traps and then cruised to one of the popular salmon fishing hot spots in Vancouver. We set the lines and after a short while of trolling we hit this 16 lb Chinook! This is what it’s all about folks! We finished up the day with 400 medium sized prawns and few large Dungeness Crabs! As they say…a picture is worth a thousand words…so for this update, we’ll let the pictures do the talking! Give us a call to experience salmon fishing in Vancouver! No group size is too big or too small! See you soon!
For the locals…the guide tip of the week! As you know, we’ve come to know the Islander MR2 as our reel of choice. We work our reels hard and it’s important to keep them lubed up. After each few days of fishing—(usually every 5 days at the most) we spend a few minutes and go through our Islanders and relube them. The best thing we have found for Islander reel drags is the Tibor Graphite Lube, as guides we have tried it all and this is the ticket!!
Spinnin’ Reels! Until next time!
