January 1 Report

The Salty Dawg was over at the Gulf Islands for New Year’s festivities and some impromptu salmon fishing was in the cards (Gulf Islands + fishing= must do). Jason A. dropped the lines down and the action was FAST AND FURIOUS! Over the course of an hour and a half, he hit 5 CHROME Spring salmon, 2 were undersize (released) and 3 well above keeper Chinooks!   This is absolutely FANTASTIC QUALITY.  It’s definitely early for the Gulf Island Fishery but not be unexpected!

Our Gulf Island Charters are extremely popular and many of our repeat clients “wait for the word” each and every spring. We anticipate investigating this fishery in the coming days to confirm the presence of substantial numbers of fish. If the presence of quality fish (meaning longer than 62 cm) is substantial, you may wish to consider a full day charter to the Gulf Islands to partake in the action!

If you’re interested in the ULTIMATE Vancouver winter fishing experience, consider a full day charter to the Gulf Islands!

For larger groups, we have multiple boats available or for the ultimate comfort in winter fishing, ,we have a 38 foot Uniflite available for your winter fishing adventure!

As I write this, Captain Eddie is out on a local 5 hour Vancouver Charter and hopefully he’s picking up where it left off 2 days ago! Check back soon for today’s fishing results!
